Part-Time Job Developer

We are seeking a dedicated Job Developer to join our team on a part-time basis (10–19 hours per week) at a rate of $27.00 per hour. In this role, you will play a crucial part in identifying, developing, and maintaining job opportunities that align with the skills and aspirations of our candidates. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of economic and workforce development, with a particular focus on the Central Valley and Mother Lode Region, and will serve as a healthcare pathway advocate to promote opportunities in the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market analysis and identify job trends and opportunities, particularly within the healthcare industry.

  • Build and maintain relationships with local employers to create job placements, internships, and apprenticeship opportunities.

  • Collaborate with community organizations, educational institutions, and workforce development agencies to promote job pathways and programs.

  • Design and implement programs to enhance employability, including skills training, workshops, and job-readiness initiatives.

  • Track job placement outcomes and report on program effectiveness while recommending improvements based on data analysis.

  • Provide one-on-one support and career counseling to candidates, assisting them with job applications, interview preparation, and career pathway planning.

  • Act as a healthcare pathway advocate, promoting careers in the healthcare industry and connecting candidates with training and job opportunities in this field.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in workforce development, job placement, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of labor market trends, employer needs, and workforce development best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with employers, community organizations, and educational institutions.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the Central Valley and Mother Lode Region as required.

  • Experience designing and implementing training programs or workshops for job seekers.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and job placement management software.

  • Familiarity with online job boards, social media platforms, and recruitment tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in or knowledge of the healthcare industry or healthcare career pathways.

  • Experience using data analytics tools to track and report on job placement metrics.

  • Knowledge of the economic and workforce development needs of the Central Valley and Mother Lode Region.

Part-Time Grant Writer

The Grant Writer will lead the identification, preparation, submission, and management of grant proposals and funding applications for HPA. This critical role involves working collaboratively with the Executive Director, leadership team, and external partners to align funding opportunities with the organization’s mission and goals. The Grant Writer will also play a key role in developing reporting mechanisms to demonstrate program outcomes, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, and maintaining relationships with funding entities.

Responsibilities

Grant Research and Identification

  • Identify and research grant opportunities from federal, state, and local government agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors aligned with HPA’s mission and strategic objectives.

  • Monitor trends in healthcare education, workforce development, and rural health funding to identify viable funding sources.

Proposal Development and Submission

  • Write and submit persuasive, high-quality grant proposals detailing HPA’s mission, impact, and funding needs.

  • Coordinate with the Executive Director and leadership team to gather programmatic, financial, and evaluation data to craft compelling narratives.

  • Ensure all proposals adhere to funder requirements, deadlines, and submission guidelines.

Grant Management and Compliance

  • Maintain a detailed grant calendar, tracking submission deadlines, reporting obligations, and renewal opportunities.

  • Develop and submit high-quality grant reports to funders, demonstrating program outcomes and compliance with funding terms.

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to manage grant budgets and ensure proper allocation of funds.

Collaboration and Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders, including government agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors.

  • Work closely with HPA’s leadership team to align funding strategies with program needs and expansion goals.

  • Engage in strategic planning to identify funding priorities and long-term sustainability opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Grant Writing Expertise: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience writing and securing grants in the nonprofit, workforce development, or healthcare sectors.

  • Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with allied health career pathways, workforce development initiatives, and rural healthcare challenges.

  • Strategic Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to develop compelling, data-driven narratives tailored to specific funder priorities.

  • Project Management: Proven capacity to manage multiple deadlines, priorities, and deliverables simultaneously.

  • Analytical Abilities: Strong research and data analysis skills to identify funding opportunities and support evidence-based proposals.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in grant management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data visualization tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with California’s healthcare workforce initiatives, including recommendations from the California Future Health Workforce Commission and Gavin Newsom’s Master Plan for Career Education.

  • Experience working with programs targeting underserved or rural populations.

  • Knowledge of career technical education (CTE) programming and Perkins Act funding.
